ERIK VIBES: G.F.R.M
Erik Vibes is a R&B artist in the Atlanta area. G.F.R.M is the first track he's released from his upcoming EP, and he wants this song to be his "flagship". When we discussed the design, Erik made it clear that his target audience is a younger crowd, say, 13-18 years old. That's why I chose to mimic (but not copy) the art style of Steven Universe, a popular Cartoon Network show.

The Chinese symbol on the front cover is Ch'i, which figuratively translates to "material energy', 'life force' or 'energy flow'. Besides the circular design of his character representing a "wholeness' of being, it's also Erik slapping away the bad vibes, relating back to the concept of "Get From Round Me'. Above are three shirt designs I created to all fit that same feeling. They're all supposed to feel fun and almost silly, but in an endearing way.

Give the Ad a watch!
What began as a just a single cover quickly morphed into a full-scale branding project, as Erik fell more in love with the style. Below are three t-shirt designs and a social ad, and we have a music video in the works! Based on the success the brand has had thus far, he also asked me to design his EP cover, and hopefully we'll continue to collaborate in the future.
